OUR ECO-MATERIAL PROJECT
An environmentally friendly fabric backpack whose body is made of a polyester fabric recycled from PET.
A backpack made of recycled fabric is durable but not only: it also carries a positive message and is a small, big step towards safeguarding our planet. One of the possible answers to the serious problem of pollution is, in fact, the first step towards a better future.

THE GRS CERTIFICATION OF OUR RECYCLED FABRICS
The *Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification aims to enhance products that use materials obtained from recycling through compliance with environmental, social and sustainable consumption criteria (reduction of virgin raw materials, water and energy) of the entire production chain.
Compliance with the GRS standards is checked annually by an independent body (Control Union) in relation to:
🌿
the content of materials from recycling their products (both intermediate and finished);
🌿
the respect of environmental and social criteria throughout the production chain.
All products that are made of at least 20% pre-consumer and post-consumer recycling materials can be certified GRS.
The criteria in the GRS standard are:
🌿
Composition of the product and content of recycled materials
🌿
Maintenance of traceability throughout the production process (supply chain)
Restrictions on the use of chemicals.
🌿
Compliance with relevant environmental criteria which may cover: water supply; waste discharge; and water discharges; energy recovery (selected waste use); emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere; production and management of waste; soil and groundwater contamination; Management of hazardous substances, preparations and materials; noise emissions; emergency management
🌿
Respect for social criteria relating to workers' rights.
*The GRS standard is promoted by Textile Exchange , a non-profit organisation that promotes responsible and sustainable development in the textile sector internationally.

The platform monitors in real time the amount of CO2 offset through the climate solutions thanks to your purchase.
Science-backed Tonnes
Science-backed CO2 isn't linked to a carbon credit, but nevertheless reliable as resulting from a scientific measurement and estimation of the CO2 tonnes absorbed.
Certified Tonnes
Certified tonnes are CO2 tonnes linked to carbon credits which certify an exact amount that can be offset.

With this solution SJ contributes to the protection of the Canandé Reserve, in Ecuador, and to the planting of young mangrove trees in the plantation site of Marovolavo, in Madagascar.
Below in detail:
Canandé Reserve: Green Future Project, together with Fundación Jocotoco, aims to expand the protected areas and connect them to the National Reserve of Cotacachi-Cayapas. Many of the newly acquired properties, some of which had been subject to deforestation, are now in the process of natural restoration.
Marovolavo plantation site the project aims to regenerate degraded mangrove forest by planting different tree species. This helps to restore the ecosystem, ensuring the long-term protection of new forests.
